This is a parental rights termination case. Shana Strickland had five sons. In December 2000, following a jury trial, her parental rights were terminated. The jury considered five grounds for termination: endangerment by conditions or surroundings; *fn1 conduct endangerment; *fn2 constructive abandonment; *fn3 failure to comply with a court order; *fn4 and failure to submit to a court order. *fn5 The jury was also asked to consider the best interest of the children. *fn6 The jury found at least one ground supported termination, and that termination was in the best interest of the children. The trial court rendered judgment on the verdict.
